Sinossi
In un quartiere di Dakar, una bambina di 10 anni, nascosta sotto una maschera, corre per le strade finché trova rifugio a casa. Il padre, vedendola spaventata e umiliata, scopre che viene derisa dagli altri bambini per il suo aspetto. Per consolarla, le racconta la storia di Rafét, una giovane rifiutata proprio per la sua bellezza, ma capace di cambiare il giudizio degli altri grazie all’amore e alla tolleranza.
In a neighborhood in Dakar, a 10-year-old girl, hidden under a mask, runs through the streets until she finds refuge at home. Her father, seeing her frightened and humiliated, learns that she is being mocked by other children because of her appearance. To comfort her, he tells her the story of Rafét, a young girl rejected because of her beauty, who is able to change others’ perception through love and tolerance.
La Regista
Formata a Parigi all’Ateliers Varan nel 2007, Khadidiatou Sow realizza i suoi primi cortometraggi. Il suo film Une place dans l’avion è stato selezionato in diversi festival e ha ricevuto numerosi premi e riconoscimenti, tra cui: gli African Movie Awards (Lagos) e Clap Ivoire (Abidjan) nel 2017, Les Nuits en Or dei César (Francia) nel 2018 e l’Etalon d’Argent al FESPACO (Burkina Faso) nel 2019.
Trained in Paris (Ateliers Varan) in 2007, Khadidiatou Sow went on to make her first short films. Her film Une place dans l’avion was selected for several festivals and received numerous awards and recognitions, including the African Movie Awards (Lagos) and Clap Ivoire (Abidjan) in 2017, Les Nuits en Or of the César Awards (France) in 2018, and the Silver Stallion (Étalon d’Argent) at FESPACO (Burkina Faso) in 2019.
