This Is Not A Burial, It’s A Resurrection

Tra le montagne del Lesotho, una vedova di 80 anni, Mantoa, si prepara a morire liquidando i propri affari terreni e disponendo per la propria sepoltura. I suoi piani però vengono sconvolti dalla notizia che il suo villaggio rischia di subire un insediamento forzato per la costruzione di un bacino idrico. Mantoa riscopre la voglia di vivere ribellandosi e accendendo lo spirito di coesione e di resistenza nella comunità.

Amongst the pythonic mountains of land-locked Lesotho, an 80 year old, Mantoa, widow winds up her earthly affairs, makes arrangements for her burial and prepares to die. But when her village is threatened with forced resettlement due to the construction of a reservoir, she finds a new will to live and ignites a collective spirit of defiance within her community.

Il Regista

Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese nasce in Lesotho. Oggi vive a Berlino dove lavora come regista autodidatta e artista visivo. Ha diretto diversi cortometraggi e lungometraggi che hanno partecipato a Festival e vinto numerosi premi. Mosese è stato un discepolo del Berlinale Talents (2011), Focus Features Africa First (2012), Realness African Screenwriting Residency (2017) e Cinefondation’s L’Atelier (2019).

Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese is a selftaught filmmaker and visual artist from Lesotho, based in Berlin. He directed several short films and feature films, which have participated in several festivals and won numerous awards. Mosese is an alumnus of the Berlinale Talents (2011), Focus Features Africa First (2012), Realness African Screenwriting Residency (2017) and Cinefondation’s L’Atelier (2019).
