Nella Val Roia, divisa tra la Francia e l’Italia, ogni giorno decine di migranti cercano di superare il confine in cerca di una vita migliore. Ma in questo limbo chiuso fra due Stati, le politiche sull’immigrazione rendono loro impossibile l’ingresso sul territorio francese. Cédric Herrou, un contadino della Valle, per questi ragazzi è un eroe: da anni offre ospitalità a tutti i giovani e le famiglie che, senza avere altro posto dove andare, restano bloccati sul confine. Grazie all’aiuto di amici e volontari, Cédric sfida con coraggio le istituzioni francesi. Osservando senza filtri questa situazione drammatica, Libero denuncia, o meglio, urla ai quattro venti l’urgenza di un intervento da parte delle istituzioni.

In Val Roia, divided between France and Italy, every day dozens of migrants try to cross the border in search of a better life. But in this limbo between two states, immigration policies make impossible for them to enter French territory. Cédric Herrou, a farmer from the Valley, is a hero for these boys: for years he has been offering hospitality to all young people and families who remain stuck on the border, without having anywhere else to go. With the help of friends and volunteers, Cédric courageously challenges French institutions. Observing this dramatic situation without filters, Libero denounces, or better, shouts to the four winds the urgency of an intervention by the institutions.

Michel Toesca è un attore, regista e sceneggiatore francese. Debutta nel 1994 scrivendo il cortometraggio Dans un grand lit carré. Nel 1997 recita nel film Sinon, oui. Nel 2004 dirige il film J’irai cracher sur vos tongs. Nel 2018 realizza il film-documentario Libero.
