La mattina del 24 dicembre, Christian, un padre disoccupato, capisce che sotto l’albero non ci saranno doni. Di fronte alla penuria delle sue finanze, decide di andare in città a vendere un gallo e due galline per racimolare quel poco per non deludere la figlia di 9 anni.
A Christian rimangono solo poche ore per compiere la sua missione natalizia!

On the morning of December 24, Christian, an unemployed father, realizes that under the Christmas tree there will be no gifts. Facing the shortage of his finances, he decide sto go to town to sell a roste and two chickens to scrape some money together to not disappoint his 9-years-old daughter. Christian only has few hours to fulfill his Christmas mission!

Il Regista
Laurent Pantaléon, dopo aver conseguito il diploma presso la l’Ecole des Beaux Arts de La Réunion, si afferma come freelance e realizza numerosi film istituzionali. Contemporaneamente, esegue una serie di lavori fotografici e video sull’identità e il patrimonio di Réunion. Nel 2004, con il Mouvement Kino, mette in scena diversi soggetti. Queste creazioni video segnano l’inizio della sua poetica: una grammatica molto visiva vicina a quella dei griots, che lascia spazio alle allusioni e alle metafore. Per lui, non è importante la storia quanto il modo in cui la si racconta.

After graduating at l’Ècole des Beaux Arts de La Réunion, Laurent Pantaléon, established himself as a freelancer and he is making numerous institutional films. At the same time, he accomplishes a series of photographic and video works on Réunion’s identinty and heritage. In 2004, he staged several plays in cooperation with the Mouvement Kino. These video creations mark the beginning of his poetry: a very visual grammar close to that of the griots, which is espressed throughout allusions and metaphors. For him, the story is not as important as the way it is told.
