Sinossi
Houria è il nome di una giovane donna molto dotata che aspira a diventare una ballerina di danza classica. In seguito ad una violenta aggressione che le provoca gravi danni fisici è costretta ad abbandonare il suo sogno ma non la danza. Grazie all’aiuto di altre donne che hanno avuto un destino simile al suo, trova la forza di reagire e di risollevarsi.
Houria is the name of a gifted young woman who aspires to become a ballet dancer. Following a violent attack that causes her severe physical harm, she is forced to give up her dream but not dance. With the help of other women who have had a similar fate to hers, she finds the strength to fight back and rise again.
La Regista
Mounia Meddour è una regista algerina figlia di madre russa e padre algerino. Nel 1996, in pieno periodo di rivolte, la famiglia è costretta ad abbandonare Algeri e a trasferirsi in Francia, per le ripetute minacce ricevute dal padre. A Parigi Mounia perfeziona i suoi studi in giornalismo e si diploma al CEFPF – European Centre Of Training Production Film. Nel 2006 firma il suo primo documentario e nel 2019 realizza Non Conosci Papicha, il lungometraggio con cui vince a Cannes il Premio Cesar per la Miglior Opera Prima.
Mounia Meddour is an Algerian director daughter of a Russian mother and an Algerian father. In 1996, at the height of the riots, the family was forced to leave Algiers and move to France due to repeated threats received from the father. In Paris, Mounia perfect her studies in journalism and graduate from the CEFPF – European Center Of Training Production Film. In 2006 she makes her first documentary and in 2019 she realize Papicha, the feature film with which she won the Cesar Award for Best First Film at Cannes.
