Corps Étranger

Samia, arrivata clandestinamente in Francia dopo la rivoluzione tunisina, è ossessionata dall’idea di essere rintracciata dal fratello, musulmano radicale, che lei aveva denunciato. Trova dapprima rifugio presso Imed, una sua vecchia conoscenza, e poi da Christine, per cui lavora. Il desiderio e la paura acuiscono le tensioni tra lei e i suoi amici e complicano il suo cammino verso la libertà.

Samia arrives illegally in France after the Tunisian revolution but she is terrified by the thought of being tracked down by her brother, an Islamic fundamentalist who she reported to the authorities. She first finds a place near Imed, an old friend of hers, and then near Christine, who she works for. Demand and fear increase tensions between her and her friends and complicate her path to freedom.

La  Regista

Raja Amari (1971) è una regista e sceneggiatrice nata a Tunisi. Dopo aver conseguito un Master in Letteratura e Civiltà Francese presso l’Università di Tunisi, per due anni scrive per Cinécrits, un magazine editato dall’Associazione Tunisina per la promozione della critica cinematografica.  Nel 1995 arriva a Parigi per seguire i corsi di sceneggiatura del FEMIS (l’Istituto di Formazione e d’Insegnamento per i Mestieri dell’Immagine e del Suono). Nel 1998, dopo il diploma, dirige il suo primo cortometraggio Avril – che si distingue subito ai festival di Milano, Tunisi e Larissa (Grecia) – seguito da Un Soir de Juillet. Nel 2002, passa per la prima volta al formato lungo con il film Rouge Satin selezionato alla Berlinale dello stesso anno. Il suo film Buried Secrets è stato nel concorso ufficiale del Festival del Cinema di Venezia, edizione 2009.

Raja Amari  (1971) is a Tunisian director  and script writer. Born in Tunis, Amari studied Italian at the Società Dante D’Alighieri in Tunis and later she studied French Literature at the University of Tunis. For two years she wrote for Cinécrits, a film magazine edited by the “Association Tunisienne pour la promotion de la critique cinematographic.” In 1995, Amari attended FEMIS (L’Institut de Formation et d’Enseignement pour les Metiers de l’Image et du Son), in Paris, where she studied screenwriting. After graduating in 1998, she began to work on her film portfolio. After two short films, Avril and Un Soir de Juillet, she directed her first long film, Satin Rouge, which was selected at “Berlinale 2002”. Her film Buried Secrets was in official selection at the 2009 Venice International Film Festival.
