Sinossi
Siamo nel mese di ottobre, al termine della stagione delle piogge, nel Fouta, una isolata regione a Nord del Senegal. Astel, una ragazzina di 13 anni, ogni giorno esce dal villaggio con suo padre per pascolare la mandria di bovini. Ma un giorno la loro serena routine quotidiana si interrompe.
It’s October, the end of the rainy season in Fouta, an isolated region in the north of Senegal. Astel, a 13-year-old girl, comes out of the village every day with her father to graze the herd of cows. But one day their serene daily routine is interrupted.
Il Regista
Ramata-Toulaye Sy è una giovane regista franco-senegalese che ha conseguito un dottorato in sceneggiatura e numerosi masters in cinematografia. Attualmente, Ramata-Toulaye lavora tra Dakar e Parigi, dove vive.
Nel 2020 ha diretto il suo primo cortometraggio, Astel. Nel 2023 esce il suo primo lungometraggio Banel & Adama.
Ramata-Toulaye Sy is a young director who has a degree in Screenwriting and numerous master’s degrees in cinematography. Currently she works between Dakar and Paris, where she lives.
In 2020, she directed her first short film, Astel. In 2023 her first film, Banel & Adama, is released at the cinema.
