Les Épouvantails

Due ragazze fanno ritorno in Tunisia dal fronte siriano. Zina aveva dovuto separarsi dalla figlia e Djo, dopo aver scoperto di essere incinta, riesce ad esprimere il suo dolore solo attraverso il romanzo che sta scrivendo. Un avvocato per i diritti umani, un medico umanitario e un giovane omosessuale uniscono le forze per assisterle nel loro percorso di recupero.

Back from the Syrian front, Zina was separated from her child and Djo finds out she’s pregnant, expressing her Syrian horror only in the novel she is writing. To assist them in their hard and lengthy reconstruction, a Human Rights lawyer, an Humanitarian doctor and a young homosexual join forces. All together, will they be able to help Zina and Djo open their black boxes and stand up to the unjust society?

Il Regista

Nouri Bouzid è sceneggiatore, regista, attore e poeta. Nel 1968 emigra in Belgio dove studia cinema all’Institut National des Arts du Spectacle et Technique de Diffusion di Bruxelles. Tornato in Tunisia, è stato in prigione dal 1973-79 perché appartenente alla direzione del Gruppo di studi e di azione socialista tunisino. Nel 1994 partecipa alla fondazione di una scuola di cinema, l’EDAC, dove insegna regia, sceneggiatura e teoria del cinema. Nel 2009 è stato nominato Ufficiale dell’Ordine delle Arti e delle Lettere in Francia.

Nouri Bouzid is a scriptwriter, director, actor and poet. He studied cinema at the Institut National des Arts du Spectacle et Technique de Diffusion in Bruxelles. Back in Tunisia, he was prisoned from 1973 to 1979 for belonging to the leadership of the Tunisian Socialist Studies and Action Group. In 1994 he participated  in founding EDAC, a film school in Tunis, where he has been teatching directing, screenwriting and film theory since. In 2009, he was made an officer of the Order of Arts and Letters in France.
