Sinossi
Una giovane donna, di cui non conosciamo nemmeno il nome, è coinvolta in un incidente non chiarito da testimoni. I suoi genitori, in particolare il padre, reagiscono alla situazione con una calma inattesa, diversa da quella che lei si aspetterebbe. Il rapporto tra la ragazza e il padre è il nucleo del racconto: tra i due non c’è conflitto né dialogo, ma una distanza sospesa, fatta soprattutto di attesa e di ciò che non viene detto.
A young woman, whose name we do not even know, is involved in an incident that remains unconfirmed by witnesses. Her parents, especially her father, respond to the situation with an unexpected calm, different from what she would anticipate. The relationship between the girl and her father is the core of the story: there is neither tension nor dialogue between them, but rather a suspended distance, shaped mainly by waiting and by what remains unspoken.

Lavorano in coppia con un approccio basato sull’osservazione e sulla costruzione del racconto a partire da situazioni quotidiane, con una forte attenzione al non detto e alle dinamiche familiari. Insieme hanno firmato il cortometraggio The Father, Probably, che ha ottenuto riconoscimenti in diversi festival internazionali.
Sidi Mohamed and Tayib Tolba are Mauritanian filmmakers active in the emerging contemporary cinema scene. They work as a duo with an approach based on observation and on building narratives from everyday situations, with a strong focus on what remains unspoken and on family dynamics. Together, they co-directed the short film The Father, Probably, which has received recognition at several international film festivals.
