DESCRIPTION:BICICLETTATA “BLACK MAMBA” con visita al Museo africano\, in collaborazione con Fiab Verona Amici della Bicicletta. \nDomenica 17 Novembre ore 14.30 \nPartenza dalla sede FIAB\, Piazza  Santo Spirito\, 13 – Verona.  \nIn caso di maltempo appuntamento alle 15.30 direttamente al Museo africano\, Vicolo Pozzo 1 – VR \nChi conosce black mamba? In Africa tutti sanno cos’è. \nCon questo breve tour di un’ora pedalando fino ad arrivare al Museo africano\, andiamo alla scoperta non solo del black mamba\, ma anche di chi lo fa rivivere attraverso le sue opere. \n  \nDiventato noto al pubblico per la fortunata serie di occhiali  – C-Stunner – \, Cyrus Kabiru è presente oggi in diverse collezioni permanenti di musei e gallerie in Europa e nel mondo. \nLa mostra\, allestita al Museo\, è una rivisitazione della suddetta serie con una selezione di opere\, tra le più interessanti\, che l’artista indossa riproponendole su supporto fotografico. \nNegli ultimi anni Kabiru si è cimentato nella creazione di installazioni scultoree più grandi\, come la sua serie ispirata alla bicicletta intitolata: Black Mamba\, che è il termine colloquiale per le biciclette a cambio fisso che hanno raggiunto uno status iconico in Kenya come mezzo di trasporto economico e popolare\, soppiantate in tutto il continente africano da scooter e moto a basso costo. \nIn memoria di queste amate biciclette\, Kabiru ricostruisce i telai e le parti scartate e obsolete\, trasformandole in assemblaggi scultorei unici che celebrano la forma e la (non) funzione della bicicletta\, mentre continua la narrazione culturale keniana del “Black Mamba”\, a cui è dedicata la BICICLETTATA e la visione del cortometraggio di Kabiru\, The end of the black mamba\, sempre all’interno del Museo. \nFIAB \nFiab Verona Amici della Bicicletta onlus is a cycling association founded in 1982\, with about 1700 members. Fiab promotes active mobility in the cities: more pedestrians\, more bikes\, more public transport\, fewer private cars. Fiab Verona organizes more than a hundred events each year including multi-day cycling holidays\, long and short day rides for families and for cyclists of all ages. In Africa everyone knows. \nDuring this short bike ride (1 hour) to the Museo Africano we’ll find out what Black Mamba is\, and also get to know Cyrus Kabiru\, the artist who has brought new life to Black Mamba through his art. \nWell-known to the public through his inventive series of wire spectacles called “C-Stunner”\, Kabiru’s work can be found in the permanent collections of several museums and galleries in Europe and throughout world. \nThe exhibition at the Museo Africano shows a selection of Kabiru’s most interesting spectacles\, with the artist wearing his creations presenting the works as photographic entities. \nIn recent years Kabiru has begun working on larger sculptural installations\, like his series of bicycles called Black Mamba – the colloquial term for the old\, cheap\, popular bicycles once commonly used by workers in Kenya and other African countries\, now replaced by scooters and cheap motorbikes. \nIn memory of these beloved bicycles Kabiru rebuilds bike frames and with discarded obsolete parts  transforms them into unique sculptural assemblies celebrating their shape and their (non)functioning beauty.  Our bike ride is dedicated to the Kenyan story of the Black Mamba and to the viewing of Kabiru’s short film at the museum: “The End of the Black Mamba”. \n  \nFIAB \nFiab Verona Amici della Bicicletta onlus is a cycling association founded in 1982\, with about 1700 members. DESCRIPTION:Una narrazione teatrale scritta e diretta da Marco Zanchi che ripercorre la straordinaria vicenda umana di un grande viaggiatore\, esploratore\, sacerdote\, missionario\, antropologo e geografo nato a Cerro Veronese duecento anni fa. Un reading per due voci narranti con gli attori Walter Peraro e Simonetta Giacon\, immagini in slide movie e frasi sonore per scoprire chi era Don Angelo Vinco. \nSiamo nella primavera 1852. Don Angelo Vinco è alla vigilia del suo terzo e ultimo viaggio verso le sorgenti del Nilo Bianco a sud est di Bellenia\, in Africa centrale. In questo racconto\, troviamo “il missionario esploratore che risalì il Nilo per tre volte” chino sul suo diario di viaggio. \nAnnota\, trascrive. Ripensa all’infanzia in Lessinia\, la sua prima formazione intellettuale\, l’ardore della scoperta\, le intuizioni\, le lotte. E poi gli incontri con gli indigeni tra commozione e timore. I viaggi e l’amore profondo per l’uomo\, chiunque esso sia. \nLe sue lettere\, le sue appassionate relazioni. Sguardi al passato\, progetti in divenire. \nUn Angelo Vinco oltre le biografie a noi note\, tra le righe dei suoi scritti\, nello spazio bianco di una memoria al futuro. A reading with two narrating voices\, of actors Walter Peraro and Simonetta Giacon\, slide movie images and sounds to discover Don Angelo Vinco. \nWe are in the spring of 1852. Don Angelo Vinco is on the eve of his third and final journey to the sources of the White Nile south-east of Bellenia\, in central Africa. In this story\, we find “the missionary explorer who climbed the Nile three times” bending over his travel diary. \nHe notes\, he transcribes. He thinks back to his childhood in Lessinia\, his first intellectual training\, the ardor of discovery\, the intuitions\, the struggles. And the encounters with indigenous populations\, between emotions and fear. His travels and his deep love for humankind\, for whoever it is. His letters\, his passionate relationships. Gazes towards the past\, and projects in the making. \nAngelo Vinco beyond biographies known to us\, between the lines of his writings\, in the white space of a memory to the future.
